Printing 6

Why is my paper getting stuck in the printer?

Load 1 sheet at a time. Use the rear or manual feed tray if available to keep the paper path straight.

Which side do I print on?

Print on the smooth, coated side. The non-printable backing has a slightly rougher, paper-like texture.

Which printer settings should I use?

Inkjet: Media Type — Matte Photo Paper (White Matte) or Glossy Photo Paper (White Glossy, Clear, Holographic), Print Quality — High / Best, Color — On.

Laser: Media Type — Labels / Heavy Paper, Print Quality — High. (Note: Our Standard White Glossy paper is for Inkjet printers only — do not use it in a Laser printer).

Setting names may vary by printer model and OS.

Why is the ink smudging or not drying on my paper?

If using an Inkjet printer: Ensure it is set to the correct Photo Paper setting ("Matte" or "Glossy"). Make sure "Color Mode" is turned ON — printing in strict black-and-white mode often forces the printer to use pigment black ink, which does not dry well on vinyl. Let the printed sheets sit for at least 10 minutes before touching them.

If using a Laser printer: Make sure your printer setting is changed to "Labels" or "Heavy Paper" to allow the toner to fuse properly.

Why do my printed colors look different from what I see on my screen?

Colors may vary depending on your monitor settings, printer, ink type, and paper finish. Additionally, the base material matters: colors printed on Translucent (Clear) paper will appear less bright and more muted because there is no white background to make them pop. For the best results, select the appropriate paper type and High/Best print quality, and always print a test sheet before starting a large project.

Why is my design tearing or not cutting properly on cutting machines?

Try a LightGrip (blue) mat or a StandardGrip mat, depending on the paper thickness. Always perform a test cut first and adjust the cutting pressure as needed. Recommended starting settings: Material: "Sticker Paper" or "Vinyl", Pressure: Less/Default, Blade: Fine-Point (adjust slightly if needed).

Sticking & Durability 5

Why won't my sticker stick properly?

Ensure the surface is completely clean, dry, and degreased before applying. Dust or oils can weaken the adhesive. Press firmly across the entire sticker to ensure a strong bond.

Which surfaces does it hold on best?

Smooth, clean, dry surfaces: glass, jars, laptops, notebooks, packaging, plastic bins. Raw or untreated wood and textured plastics hold less reliably — seal the surface first or choose a smoother spot.

Are Small Smile stickers waterproof and durable?

Our Vinyl papers are water-resistant. Apply the sticker and let it cure for 24 hours before water exposure. They are hand-wash only (not dishwasher safe). (Note: Standard Printable Sticker Paper is not water-resistant).

How can I make my stickers more durable?

If your stickers will be exposed to heavy rubbing, frequent water, or outdoor conditions, apply a clear laminate sheet or a protective UV spray over the printed page before cutting.

Can I use sticker paper on fabric?

No, this paper uses a pressure-sensitive adhesive designed for hard, smooth surfaces. It is not heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) and will not stick permanently or survive washing on clothing.

Paper & Finishes 6

What are sticker sheets?

They are full-page, self-adhesive printable sheets available in vinyl and standard paper-based options. You print your own designs using a compatible printer and cut them out (with scissors or a cutting machine) to create custom stickers, product labels, or decals.

What is the difference between Vinyl and Standard Sticker Paper?

Vinyl sticker paper is made of durable plastic, making it tear-resistant, water-resistant, and ideal for items handled frequently, like laptops or water bottles. Standard sticker paper is paper-based, meaning it is not waterproof and can tear like normal paper. It is perfect for indoor crafts, planners, and journaling.

What is White Gloss?

We offer two glossy options. Premium Vinyl Glossy is highly durable, water-resistant, and compatible with both Inkjet and Laser printers. Standard White Glossy is a paper-based, non-waterproof option designed exclusively for Inkjet printers — perfect for indoor crafts, planners, and journaling. Both feature a shiny finish that makes colors look vibrant and photo-realistic.

What is White Matte?

A vinyl paper with a flat, non-reflective finish. It provides a soft, elegant look with zero glare. It is perfect for minimalist designs, planner stickers, or text-heavy labels.

What is Translucent (Clear) Sticker Paper?

A glossy, waterproof vinyl. Due to the waterproof coating, it is ~95% clear with a slight blue tint. It works best on light surfaces, as colors will blend into dark backgrounds. (Note: Standard printers do not print white ink; white areas will remain clear).

What is Holographic Sticker Paper?

This paper uses the same transparent base as our Clear paper, but features an eye-catching, rainbow-like holographic overlay that changes colors when the light hits it. Looks best when applied to light-colored surfaces.
